(UPDATED 1/9/26): HCR Schedule of Upcoming Controlled & Planned Construction Site Blasts

Today, Homer City Redevelopment (HCR) published its upcoming schedule of controlled and planned construction site blasts that have been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection’s Bureau of Mining (PADEP).

Beginning Monday, January 12, HCR’s Pennsylvania-trained, licensed, and approved contractor will conduct the permitted excavation sub-surface rock blasts at the HCR plant at approximately 4:30 pm ET daily.

The blasts may result in a blast noise and/or ground vibration in the ground that can be heard and/or felt in close proximity to HCR’s plant.

The dates and times are subject to change depending upon a number of factors, including weather and site conditions, all in accordance with PADEP’s requirements. Further updates to the schedule will be published as they become available.
